Stein Builders is owned and run by Shay Falkenstein out of Ennis, Montana. Since 2021, we’ve built luxury custom homes and handled the intricate carpentry that other contractors send our way. The owner is on every project — that’s not a marketing line, it’s how the company works.
Nothing about a Stein Builders home is rushed. We work slowly and deliberately because that’s what real craftsmanship requires. We're based in Ennis and work throughout the Madison Valley, Bozeman, and Big Sky. We're licensed in Montana and can discuss multi-state projects on a case-by-case basis.
Do you handle remodels or only new construction?
Both. We build custom homes and timber frames from the ground up, and we take on remodels and renovations where the scope fits our approach — detailed, deliberate, owner-led work.
How far in advance should I reach out?
As early as possible. We book several months out, especially for custom home builds. If you're planning to break ground in the next year, now is the right time to call.
Is Shay on-site for every project?
Yes. Owner-led is not a marketing phrase — Shay is on-site every day, for every project. You won't be handed off to a crew you've never met after signing a contract.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Stein Builders is fully licensed in Montana, bonded, and fully insured. We can provide documentation before any contract is signed.
